Jay Cabell Obituary
Jay Lamont Cabell was born on September 29, 1975, in the Bronx, New York, to Frances and Donald McCullough. At the age of three, Jay and family moved from the Bronx to Peekskill, New York, before eventually settling in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he peacefully transitioned on November 4, 2025.
Jay is survived by his uncle, Darren Wells, and his siblings: Charles Cabell, Dana Mason, Christopher Cabell, Randy Cabell, James Cabell, Donelle Cabell, and Kay Cabell. He was a proud and devoted father to Jay Cabell Jr., Ja'dyn Cabell, and Kam'ron Cabell.
Nieces and nephews, Aryan Taylor Cabell, Chaz Thomas Cabell, Christopher Cabell Jr., Naliyah Cabell, Aubrey & Audrey Cabell, Heath White, Nadia Richards, Dana Mason Jr., Tyler Mason and Shane Mason.
Jay will be remembered for his joyful spirit, kind heart, and love for life. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, bowling, spending time with his dogs, and being surrounded by family and friends. He often traveled back to Peekskill NY from Spartanburg to visit with his sons and granddaughter. He loved to revisit the places that held special memories.
Jay's crooked smile, generous heart, and infectious laughter will forever be cherished. His love, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory and celebrate his life.
A service in remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 15,2025, 10:00am at 145 N Lawn St. Elmsford NY 10523.
The Cabell family is being cared for by Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc. and Cremation Centers of South Carolina, LLC.
