Jay Dee Evans ObituaryJay was born November 10, 1942, to Milton and Ruby Evans who were ranchers in eastern Colorado. He had one sibling, Kit Evans. Jay transferred to his heavenly home on July 22, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Evans; son, Mark; granddaughter, Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Nick and Laney; godson, Michael Stowell; cousins, Beverly Marken, Tommy Moore, EJ Fesler, and Norma Conley who says Jay was like a brother to her, and William H. He went to one year of college but preferred construction work. He was a Journeyman Drywaller and superintendent for a home builder in Colorado Springs and his trade took him and the family to Anchorage, Alaska and then to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where he was partners with Classic Homes before returning to Colorado Springs in 1987 when he started Evans Drywall Corp.
He enjoyed Drag Racing and in later years car shows. He was a member of Good Guys Car shows and the Christian Roders Association always using his love for God, family and his country to encourage others. If you met Jay you had a friend for life.
He volunteered with Colorado Mounted Rangers and helped train and volunteer with his home church security. He enjoyed life to the fullest whether at work or play. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed everyone he met with a sincere heart. His most cherished time was the Men's Ministry at CFAN.
