Jay Herren Obituary
Jay was born in Salina, Kansas on April 15, 1931, a son of Glenn and Ella (Johnson) Herren.
Jay attended Salina grade school and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1949.
Through the years Jay worked in the oil field, and retired as a Production Superintendent for Mull Drilling Company, Wichita, KS.
Jay was active in Lions Club and Aging Project Inc. where he served for 10 years.
Jay loved to golf, travel and spending time with his friends and family.
Jay was united in marriage to Caroline Sales on June 11, 1950 in Roxbury, Ks.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn Herren, of McPherson, KS; his children, Gary Herren (Amy), of McPherson, KS; Terry Herren (Karen), of Newton, KS; Doug Herren (Kellie), of Nowata, OK and Brenda Russel (Darren), of McPherson, KS. He is also survived by many grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Michael Herren; his siblings, Joann Patterson and Wallace "Wally" Herren.
Burial will be at Eureka Cemetery, Roxbury, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church and they can be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home; 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, Ks. 67460.
There will be a memorial service in the future.
