Lawrence Raymond Bell, 77, passed away on January 26, 2026, at McPherson Memorial Hospital, McPherson, Kansas.

Larry was born on November 09, 1948, in Long Beach, California to parents Raymond Grady Bell and Ruby LaVerne (Morris) Bell.

Larry attended many elementary and middle schools due to his father's job in the oil fields. He graduated in 1966 from Las Vegas High School, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Vicki L DeVaughn-Lane on April 27, 2002. This blended family was blessed with five children. Samantha Bell, Lindsey Bell, Jamie Lane, Matthew Lane, and Anthony Lane.

Lawrence joined the Navy straight out of High School where he had many positions, ending his career as a Sonar Technician Senior Chief. He then went into recruiting. After the Navy, he went to the Glendora Police Department, Glendora, California becoming a Jailer, retiring after 22 years.

He enjoyed camping anywhere and everywhere, football and his family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruby Bell, granddaughter Alexis Lane, his friends George Montgomery and Douglas Miller.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Vicki, their five children, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two bonus grandchildren

A memorial service will be held February 16, 2026 at 5:00 pm at New Hope Evangelical Church with Pastor George Bocox officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 24 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715.
