JAY SCOTT PRIGGE, 59, of Red Bud, Illinois, and Truckee, California, passed away at 12:55 am, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his residence in Red Bud, Illinois.
He was born to C. John and Joan (nee Dannenberg) Prigge on October 18, 1966 in Red Bud, Illinois.
Jay was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by passion, generosity, and the deep love he had for the people around him.
He was someone who truly embraced life. He had a love for the outdoors and could often be found enjoying the freedom and adventure that nature brought him. He was also an artist at heart and a natural creator—something that showed through in his work as a master builder, where his craftsmanship and dedication left a lasting mark.
He had a fun and vibrant personality that people were naturally drawn to. Whether sharing a generous pour of Crown Royal, listening to music, or following the excitement of Formula One racing, he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He took pride in his style as well, often sporting his favorite Puma shoes and keeping up with fashion.
He loved time on the water and was known as a bit of a paddle board stud (making it on the podium once or twice), always ready for the next adventure. But more than any hobby or interest, what defined him most was the way he loved others.
He was a legendary Christmas gift giver, known for the thought and care he put into making the holidays special for everyone around him. His generosity and kindness extended far beyond the holidays—he truly loved his family so much and valued every moment spent together. He also cherished his friendships deeply and built strong bonds with those lucky enough to know him.
His beloved dog, Trooper, was a constant companion and a source of joy in his life.
He will be remembered for his creativity, his adventurous spirit, his style, and most of all for the immense love he had for his family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the traditions he helped create, and the countless lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
