Jayce Haslett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory - Daphne on Nov. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Jayce Bradley Haslett, or lovingly known to family and friends as "Jayceface", lost his battle with depression on November 19, 2025, in Saraland, Alabama, at the age of 17 years old. Our hearts are absolutely shattered, but hopefully this tragedy will inspire others to become educated on signs of depression (especially in teens), treatment options, and methods to help prevent the taking of one's own life. You truly never know how much time you have with someone, so please hug your loved ones a little tighter and make sure to always let them know how loved and valued they are because I'm so thankful that no matter what inward battles he was dealing with, he knew how much I loved him and that he definitely was his mommy's heart.
Jayce loved snowboarding, riding his dirt bike, playing basketball, dancing (hip hop), writing and recording songs, and spending time with the people closest to him. He was the best uncle and loved playing with his niece and nephews. He was so kind, loving and selfless. He had an enormous heart and was the biggest animal lover.
Jayce is preceded in death by his bonus mom, Lydia Cox.
He is survived by his parents, Jendi and Matthew Driskell and Trey Cox; his brother and best friend, Jordan McDonald and his sister-in-law, Victoria McDonald; his brother, Jayden Cox; his cousin that was like a sister, Madison Neely; his bonus brothers, Kingston, Carlos, Nico, and Logan; his grandparents, Robin Cox (Mimi), Pam and Mike Neely (Nanny and Papa) and Leslie Todd (Granny); his niece, Skylynn McDonald; his nephews, Cameron and Jackson McDonald; his best friend who was like a brother, Jayden Hoffmann; and so many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him immensely.
From Mommy to Jayce:
To my Jayceface, my baby boy, my heart, and my best friend,
Thank you for giving me the 17 happiest years of my life. Thank you for always telling me that you love me and giving me the biggest hugs no matter who was around. Thank you for being my best friend and just hanging out with me (in person or on the phone when you were in Alabama) for hours everyday. I am so thankful that you were the last person to tell me Happy Birthday on Tuesday evening and that our last words to each other were, "I love you baby boy" and "I love you too mom." Thank you for always hugging me so tightly because I can smile when I close my eyes and see my last visual memory with you is us hugging each other tightly and saying I love you to each other. You will always be Mommy's heart, and I know you will always be with me. Rest in Peace baby boy. I love you the mostest infinity to the infinity power.
Love always and forever,
Mommy
