Jayme Dee Votaw, born on October 29, 1974, in Alliance, Ohio, passed peacefully at home in Eastpoint, Florida, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 50.
Jayme wore many hats throughout her life, working as a paramedic and engaging in the hospitality industry for many years. She was known for her caring nature and dedication to helping others.
In her spare time, Jayme enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She had a passion for music, delighting in listening to tunes. Camping was another cherished pastime, along with playing and coaching softball. Recently, she had taken up fishing and found joy in spending time by the water.
Jayme leaves behind her mother, Patricia Votaw (Edward Darnell) of North Benton, Ohio, and her loving spouse, Joe Chastain of Eastpoint, Florida. She is survived by her two daughters, Carli Hunt of St. George Island, Florida, and Macey Hunt of Tallahassee, Florida. Jayme was also a stepmother to Austin Chastain (Winter Millender), Blake Chastain, and Denim Chastain, all of Fountain, Florida. She is mourned by her two sisters, Shauna Kaminsky (Kevin) of Northfield Center, Ohio, and Kristina Christy of Ohio. Additionally, she cherished her role as a grandmother to Freya Hayes and as a step grandmother to Trail Chastain and Vylet Chastain.
Jayme will be remembered for her warmth, passion for life, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Votaw, and her stepmother, Michelle "Mimi" Harmon.
