Funeral service for J.C. Dunaway, 90, will be Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Haynes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Dunaway passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community in Birmingham. He was born May 9, 1935, in Morgan County, to John Melvin Dunaway and Cora Alverta Lyle Dunaway, who preceded him in death.

He was employed by the Army Missile Command, as an Aerospace Engineer, prior to his retirement. He was a longtime member and Elder of the Falkville Church of Christ, a teacher and volunteer for a prison ministry, a member of the Lions Club, a former member of the Board of Education for Morgan County Schools, and a graduate of Falkville High School and Auburn University. He also did some Mission work in Guyana.

Survivors include
Wife - Margaret Wallace Dunaway,

Daughters - Deborah Haynes (Ken), and
Wanda Dunaway,

Sister - Jean Dunaway Greer,

Grandchildren-
Will Haynes, Meg Haynes, and Wesley Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Will Haynes, Wesley Haynes, Glen Holmes, David Holmes, Lyle Holmes, and Darrell Harris.
