Jean LaRue Alloway, 96, formerly of Newport, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Primrose Retirement Community in Zanesville, Ohio.
Jean was born July 25, 1927 in Worthington, PA to Charles and Alice Bowser.
She married H. Bradley Alloway on June 26, 1948.
Jean is a member of Center Valley Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Women’s Mission and the Quilting Circle. Her family was the light of her life, she enjoyed playing Skip-Bo and Uno with all of her grandkids.
Jean will be deeply missed by her husband H. Bradley Alloway; children Steven (Cheryl) Alloway and Patricia (Don) D’Angelo; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her eleven siblings.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Michaels officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
