John D. Alloway, 74 of West Liberty passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his residence.

John was born August 4, 1951 in Bellefontaine to the late Gail and Betty (Oliver) Alloway Jr.

While born in Bellefontaine he lived in California for many years. He later moved back to Ohio where he was married, had his children and built his home in West Liberty. He retired from Honda after over 20 years of hard work. John enjoyed watching NASCAR and sprint car racing and enjoyed motorsports. He was an avid photographer, loved new technologies, and also enjoyed trap shooting and spending time at the range. His primary dedication was to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his children, Christopher Trabert of Troy, OH, Jason Todd Alloway of Dublin, OH, Jaclyn (Chad) Montague of West Liberty, OH and Jessica (Derrick) Rausch of Belle Center, OH; grandchildren, Jared and Gavin Trabert, Levi and Noah Britenstine, Lyndsay and Madison Rausch and one on the way; great grandchildren, Addilyn, Aston and Winifred Trabert; brothers, Jeffery (Eve) Alloway of Green Springs, Ohio; sisters, Sharon Andrews of Reno, Nevada and Kathy (Roger) Garmin of Florence, Arizona; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery following the service.
