Jean Dye Andolsen, 75, of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born August 22, 1945 in Mercedes, Texas to the late Howard and Martha (nee Tribby) Dye.
Jean grew up in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania and earned her bachelor's degree from Grove City College in Grove City, PA. She later moved to Cleveland where she and her first husband Lloyd Snyder raised their son and she began work with the Cuyahoga Department of Job and Family Services. Jean continued her education at Case Western University and earned her master's degree in Social Work in the early 1990's. After retiring from Job and Family Services, Jean felt like there were still others she could assist. She went on to work for almost another ten years at New Life Community Services.
Jean was always most at home around others and helping groups come together to enjoy life. She enjoyed spending time at her winter home in Florida with her second husband Bob, along with extended travel with a highlight of visiting Monet's Garden on one of her trips to France. She enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. Jean was instrumental in bringing her neighborhood together for its first "Block Party", a tradition that continued for many years. She had a way of bringing a sense of community wherever she went.
Jean is survived by her loving son Jonathan (Kate Faber) Snyder; dear siblings Judy (Ken) Schaeffer, Craig (Linda) Dye and Laurie (Dan) Sloan; step-children Robert (Karen) Andolsen, Daniel (Diane). Andolsen (Diane), Mary Elizabeth Clark, and Laurel (Aaron) Anderson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Samantha, Zachary, Joseph and Daniel Andolsen; James, Angus and Lachlan Clark and Lilli Anna, Patrick, Grace and Charles Anderson; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Robert Andolsen; parents Martha Dye and Howard and Anne Dye.
