Jean M. Barry
August 7, 1951 - April 15, 2024
On April 15, 2024, Jean M. (Haslegrave) Barry, lifelong resident of Beverly, MA passed away surrounded by the deep love of her family after a brave battle with cancer. She was 72.
Jean is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Daniel Barry of Beverly, her three daughters, Alisha Weisman of Sudbury, Sarah Barry of Beverly, and Jayna Barry of Essex, the lights of her life, and her two beloved grandsons, Nash and Cole Weisman. She raised and cared for her brother-in-law and favorite lunch date Alonzo "Lonnie" Hogan for 45 years and was close with her brothers and sisters in-law. She had a special grandmotherly relationship with her sweet pea, Nevaeh Larkin. She was predeceased by her brother Tomar Haslegrave. She fiercely loved and was endlessly supportive of her family and we will miss her beyond words.
A graduate of Beverly High School, Jean had a short career as a travel agent before leaving the workforce to raise her family, her true passion. A natural born nurturer, she was quick with a smile or a story and would extend a helping hand to anyone, traits that served her well when she returned to work and spent over 20 years as the receptionist at Venti Chiropractic. Every patient became a friend.
An avid gardener, Jean loved her flower and vegetable gardens, maintained a meticulous lawn, and set out many birdfeeders. She could transform anything she found on the sidewalk into a planter. She cheered and beamed with pride for her grandsons at their sports and events, always ready on the sidelines with a cooler full of snacks. There is a long list of friends and loved ones who will miss receiving her famous hot fudge sauce at Christmas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA on Sunday June 9 from 2:00-5:00 pm. All who knew Jean are invited to attend. We encourage you to share your memories by visiting her virtual guestbook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean's name to one of her favorite community organizations, Beverly Bootstraps, 35 Park St. Beverly, MA or Northeast Arc, 1 Southside Road, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA. Information, Directions, Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.

My favorite memory of Jean was going over and eating lobster with Sarah, Paul Long (RIP), Dan and the family. Jean was ALWAYS loving, kind, caring and Welcoming. Being around Jean gave me a safe warm feeling and I´ll never forget that. Fly high mamma bear xo

When I moved to Beverly 30 years ago Jean was my first friend. We click right away with our personalities she help me find the apartment on Munroe Street which I live there for 18 years we became good friends she was kind to me and took me under her wing knowing I was a struggling single parent. I guess most of all I´ll miss her laughing at my crazy life stories . I loved her and I´ll miss her very much . Heavy tears and my sympathy to her family
