A proud graduate of West Catholic Girls High School and Manor Junior College, Jean dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother. Jean then went on to a fulfilling and successful career as an Executive Recruiter.
As a lifetime summer resident of Ocean City, New Jersey, Jean found solace and happiness in the sun-soaked days by the shore. She was actively involved as a parishioner at St. Damien during the summers, where she embraced the coastal community with open arms. Throughout the years, she also committed herself to her local parish, St. John’s, cultivating friendships that would last a lifetime. Jean truly treasured her Maris Grove friendships and community.
Married for 31 wonderful years to her beloved husband, James Basile, Jean created a profound partnership built on love, respect, and support. Together they navigated the joys and challenges of life, forming a strong family foundation that would be instilled in their two sons.
Jean is survived by her devoted sons, Derek Basile and Gregg Basile (Sue), who carry forth her legacy of kindness and love. Her grandchildren, Makenzie, Nicolas (Priya Gupta), Eleena, and A.J., brought her immense joy; she treasured the time spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and warmth.
Along with her immediate family, Jean is predeceased by her husband, James V. Basile; her parents, Ernest Leslie and Alberta Greenwood; and her beloved sisters, Barbara Craig and Carol Geiger. Each of them played a significant role in her life, shaping the compassionate spirit she shared with others.
A memorial service honoring Jean's life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Maris Grove, beginning at 2:30pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of a woman whose presence touched so many.
