Jean Caudle, 81, on October 28, 2025, finished the race that was set before her and saw her Savior face to face. Jean was born in Union County on July 18, 1944, the daughter of the late George and Lila Mae Kiker. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Mildred Barrett, Jake Kiker, Robert Kiker, and Pearl Tramell.
In December 1971, she answered His call on her life and accepted Him as her Savior. Jesus Christ was her greatest priority. Her life was marked by an unwavering devotion to soul-winning and spreading the joy she found in Christ, serving Him until the very end.
Jean spent her life devoted to serving others-from being a legal secretary in her early years to teaching students and working as office staff at Tabernacle Christian School. Her greatest joy came when she opened Kids' Express Childcare Center in Wadesboro, where she lovingly cared for children and their families until her retirement. The relationships she formed through the daycare were among her most cherished.
Known for her warm, welcoming spirit, Jean was never without a smile. She had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel like family-whether they were close friends or a stranger she met at the grocery store. She was often described as the "life of the party," with a personality that could light up any room. Family gatherings were loud and full of laughter because of her infectious joy and love. Above all, Jean loved people deeply, motivated by the love she had first received from Christ.
Apart from her Lord, her husband of 62 years and her family (especially the great-grands) were her greatest joys in life. She attended every function she was able-ball games, concerts, graduations, weddings, and baby showers. Her love for them was boundless, and she prayed fervently for each one. Jean was a powerful spiritual influence in the lives of her family, always pointing them toward Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Bible Baptist Tabernacle Church, 2900 Walkup Ave.,
Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the church. The family will also welcome visitors at the home of her granddaughter in Marshville, NC.
Jean is survived by her husband, Sam; her daughter, Becky Jordan (Jeff); her son, Sammy Caudle (Mia); her grandchildren, Madison Gurley (Nick), Wes Caudle (Kassidy), Rachel Jordan, Claire Baker (Matt), Will Caudle (Charity), and Wyatt Caudle; and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Gibson, Callahan, Avangeline, Jordan, and Samson.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Monroe Square Memory Care for their loving care over the past two and a half years, and to the staff at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster for the comfort and compassion they provided in her final days.
