Jean Marie (Fohrman) Chitko, a strong woman of faith left us peacefully to join her Lord and Savior in Heaven on March 13, 2023. Jean was born on December 18, 1944 to Herman and Eleanor Forhman in Laona, Wisconsin. She spent her childhood in Laona where she met the love of her life, Albin. They were married on May 26, 1961. They started their family and spent some time in Kenosha Wisconsin. They came back to Laona and built a family home there.
Jean was an active member of the St. Leonard's Catholic Church. She belonged to Christian Mother's group, a choir member, and volunteer. She worked various jobs throughout her years, but she loved her time as a baker, baking bread each day for the students of the Laona School District. Jean could often be found volunteering at many local events. The giving back and helping out of others was of great joy to her. Jean was a devoted and loving wife to her best friend, Alibin Chitko Jr. for 62 years. Together they have 4 amazing children: Pam, Jack, Rod, and Cory. Jean was a wonderful mother who loved her children dearly. She instilled the importance of family in them. As the family grew, Jean adored and loved having time with all her grandchildren. The title of Aunt Jean was her favorite. She provided unconditional love, support, and guidance to all her nephews and nieces.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Albin, and her children Pam (Dale) Chitko, Rod (Shelly) Chitko, and Cory (Tammy) Chitko. Her grandchildren, Chad Neddo, Keith Neddo, Ashley (Dan) Eckert, Alicia Chitko, Coty (Allyssa) Chitko, Josh Chitko, Jake Chitko, Kaylin Chitko, Kyle Chitko, and Cody(Shannon) Gudowicz. As well as nine great grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her cherished son Jack, her loving parents, brothers and sisters, and in-laws. Jean had the kindest heart and was a friend to many. She will be truly missed by all.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Leonard's Catholic Church with Father Anil Polumari officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service.
