Jean Ranne Clark, 90, of Wethersfield, devoted wife of the late Robert D. Clark ("Bob"), died peacefully at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025. A lifelong resident of Wethersfield, Jean was born on June 5, 1935, to the late Peter and Angela Ranne and was a proud 1953 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in West Hartford. After graduation, she worked as a customer service representative for Southern New England Telephone before marrying Bob in 1956. Together, they went on to raise five children and started R. D. Clark & Sons, Inc., where Jean dedicated many years to its success. Jean was also a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Jean was an incredibly devoted, loving, and selfless mother and grandmother who was always willing to help in matters big and small. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy C. Fortier. She is survived by her four children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Carolyn Clark Manchester (Brian) and their children, Lauren Viveiros, Tyler Manchester (Erica) and their daughters, Maren and Callie, and Jordan Manchester; Kevin Clark and his sons, Casey and Christopher; John Clark (Jacquie) and their children, Jennifer and Joshua; and James Clark (Sandy) and their children, Morgan and Evan. Jean is also survived by her sister, Virginia LaFontana, along with several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jean's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. All attendees are asked to go directly to church. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, 1 Marsh Street, Wethersfield.
