Jean Marie Compton

Jean Marie Compton, age 86, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
Jean was born in Silver Creek, Nebraska, to the late Leonard and Genevieve Parkos. Jean was one of 6 siblings in the Parkos household falling 2nd oldest in the family. The family moved to California when she around 4 years old and grew up in El Segundo, California. She graduated from George Washington High School when she met the love of her life Wayne Compton and married him before she graduated. After graduation, they started a family with the birth of their son, Michael Wayne Compton and later daughter Laura joined the family.
The Compton family stayed in California but Jean's siblings slowly moved to Colorado. It was with a surprise Christmas visit to Jean's siblings along with her parents, the Parkos', the Compton's decided Colorado is where they wanted to live.
With the move to Colorado and her children in their late teens, she opened a craft store, Craft Creations where she was able to showcase her Art and teach others to paint. This was a stepping stone for her to really bring her passion of painting by teaching Tole and canvas painting in several shops in the metro area.
She and Wayne were long time members of Southeast Christian Church in Parker. She served in different capacities, Jean using her artist abilities of decorating by sewing costumes and designing banners for differents events, making floral arrangements and decorating for Christmas, etc...
She loved her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus very much. Although she will be missed by her family here on earth, she is welcomed by those who are waiting for her in Heaven.
Jean is survived by her daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, 3 siblings, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne, husband of 61 years and son, Michael Compton.
A funeral service for Jean will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
