Jean Drenth, 98, of Ellsworth, passed away on December 25, 2024 at her home. She was born on January 24, 1926, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Gates) Black.

 Jean enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She was also proud to meticulously mow her lawn with only a push mower. 

 She was a long-time member of the Belltower Reformed Church and was an avid Detroit Tigers Baseball fan.

 Surviving are 5 children, Sharon (Cornell) Alofs of Ellsworth, Artis (Bradley) Jones of Rotunda, FL, Dennis “Hud” (Jan) Drenth of Central Lake, Shirley Boss of Ellsworth, Terry “Tex” (Rhonda) Drenth of Ellsworth, 12 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

 Preceding her in death were her husband Art Drenth, great-granddaughter Genesis Boss, 3 sisters, Shirley Wilbur, Mary Lou Johnson, and Maxine Drenth as well as her parents.

 Visitation will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at the Belltower Reformed Church.

 Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. also at church with Pastor Cobus Manders officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

 Burial will be in the Ellsworth Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Belltower Reformed Church, 8033 Church Rd., Ellsworth, MI, 49729.

 Arrangements are in the care of the Ellsworth Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
