Jean Barrett Filolungo, age 63 of Warrensville, North Carolina passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center. She was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts to Robert Leroy and Joan Sheehan Barrett. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Stephen Filolungo.
Jean had a deep love for nature and enjoyed spending her time outdoors. She especially loved fishing, camping, and working in her flowers. Her garden was her pride and joy, and she took great care in making everything around her beautiful.
She will be remembered for her kind and caring nature and the simple joy she found in life’s quiet moments.
Mrs. Filolungo is survived by her mother, Joan Barrett of Creston, one sister, Debra Rich of Bridgewater, Mass. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as special friends, Pam Owens and Scott Roland.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2025 at The Ashe County Arts Council from 1:00-2:00pm. Graveside Services will be held following the visitation in the Clint Gilley Cemetery by Pastor Jason Miller.
