Jean Margaret Gaffney, 89, of Beaumont died Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1936, in Eastbourne, Sussex, United Kingdom. A gifted student, she earned a scholarship to Eastbourne High School in 1947.

In 1951, she attended Art College, where she studied design, tailoring, and pattern cutting while serving an apprenticeship with a local clothing company. Her talent and dedication to her craft led her to an early and successful career in fashion design.

In 1957, Jean embarked on a new adventure, sailing to New Zealand, where she headed up and led a design center in Auckland. She later returned to the United Kingdom in 1962, continuing her work in design for a London-based company.

In 1964, Jean married Jim Gaffney, beginning a devoted partnership that would span six remarkable decades. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.

Jean is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her sons, Glen Gaffney and his wife, Alisha, of LaBelle, and Ross Gaffney of Hove, Sussex, England; grandchildren, Brenden Gaffney and Taylin Gaffney, both of LaBelle; and siblings, Derek Salisbury, Pamela Corrick, and Carole Moore.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, James Gaffney.

Her kindness, creativity, and strength will forever be remembered and carried forward by those who lives she touched.

Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Gaffney were handled through Broussard's Crematorium under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
