Lucille Bess

Lucille Bess, 94, of Colmesneil, formerly of Beaumont, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1931, in Beaumont to Evelyn Kathryn Pruitt and Ira Edward Cocran.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Martin of Colmesneil; son, Kyle Bess and his wife, Joy, of Pinewood; daughter-in-law, Jan Bess Benton of Montgomery; sister, Jane Wright of Lumberton; grandchildren, Sarah Russell and her husband, Cliff, of Colmesneil; Jacy Bickham and her husband, Micah, of Brooklyn, New York; Cody Bess and his wife, Jessica, of Houston; Emily Ervin and her husband, Jared, of Pinewood; Matt Bess and his wife, Stephanie, of Montgomery; and Laura Bess of Austin; great-grandchildren, Logan Primrose of San Marcos; Landen Primrose and Gunner Russell of Colmesneil; Owen Bickham and Abner Bickham of Brooklyn, New York; Lachlyn Bess and Roan Bess of Houston; Makinley Ervin and Madison Ervin of Pinewood; and Avery Bess and Ty Bess of Montgomery.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Bess; son, Kirk Bess; grandson, Richard Martin; and son-in-law, Mark Martin.

A memorial service for Mrs. Bess will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025, at First Baptist Bevil Oaks, 7725 Sweetgum Rd, Bevil Oaks. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
