RICHMOND, VA - JEAN GOLDMAN (née Siegel, Marks) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Hermitage Assisted Living in Richmond, VA. She was 94 years old.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, to Herbert and Ida (née Ramberg) Siegel, she resided and raised her children in East Brunswick, NJ before settling down in Richmond, VA in 1986.
Prior to retiring, Jean was a Teacher for The Richmond Board of Education in VA. She also taught for the Edison Board of Education and East Brunswick Board of Education, both in New Jersey. Her teaching career spanned over 30 years.
In her spare time, Jean enjoyed playing Mahjongg, Bridge and participating in social events with her very special group of friends in Richmond. She was a member of the Jewish Women's Club, longtime treasurer of the Richmond Culinary Guild, and a lifetime member of Hadassah.
Jean's greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she cherished each of them dearly.
Jean was predeceased by her first husband, Bernard Marks (1930-1975), second husband Edward Goldman (1929-2011), her parents, and her sister, Maxine Wagner.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Granville of Robbinsville, NJ, and Vicki Morgenstein of Verona, NJ, her stepchildren Jeffrey Goldman (Jenny) and Susan Baum (Steve), her grandchildren, Blair Karp (Joe), Brooke Morgenstein, Brandon Morgenstein, Michele Baum West (Matt), and Julia Baum Daleys(Dean) and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 1:15 pm, at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick.
