Jean Goodnight

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Goodnight, age 90, who departed this world on March 10, 2026. She was born on April 11, 1935, in Shirley, Arkansas, to W. L. Bellamy and Ruth White Bellamy. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin Goodnight, whom she shared many years of marriage.

Jean was a devoted woman of faith who loved attending church and being part of her church community. She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Shirley, Arkansas. Her family was the center of her life, and she especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who made her days brighter and brought her endless joy.

Jean also had a love and talent for quilting. It was one of her favorite pastimes, and she lovingly made quilts for family, friends, and anyone in need of warmth and comfort. Her quilts will be a reminder of the care and love she shared with others.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Stanley Goodnight; grandsons, Jonathan Stanley Goodnight and Anthony James Goodnight and his wife Kim; great-grandchildren, Brant, Rasa, Ainslee, Anniston; sisters, Lola Breeden and Lois Nixon, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Jean in death are her parents, her husband, James Alvin Goodnight; brothers, Ed Bellamy, Vernon Overturff, Herman Bellamy, and Stanley Bellamy.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and memories of her will be cherished for a lifetime.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery, Edgemont Road, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Stanley Goodnight, Anthony James Goodnight, Brant Goodnight, Leroy Goodnight, Michael Goodnight.
