Jean Elizabeth Gress was a caring wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She left this world August 01, 2022 at age 94 after a brief illness in Queen Creek, Arizona.
She was born to Daniel and Elizabeth Briggs on July 15, 1928. After graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1946 she worked and retired from the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company as an operator, which was a job she loved. She married her true love, Andrew John Gress in 1949 and they had two children, Andrew (Drew) Gress of Monroe, New York, and Michael Gress of Gilbert, Arizona. She loved spending time with their wives Brooke Evans and Supawan (Tai) Gress, and recent fiancé of Drew, Michelle Cuevas.
Jean was the devoted big sister of Gerald Briggs and Barbara Shary. Many holidays and family events were spent with her family telling stories and following up on life events. Jean had many friends at the local "Y" and enjoyed going out with them and shopping after their exercise sessions. She loved to travel and had gone on many cruises and family trips and had been to Europe, South America and Hawaii several times, as well as most of the United States.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday August 11, 2022, from 8:30am to 9:45am at the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S Delaware Avenue Yardley PA 19067. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am at St. Ignatius Church, 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley, PA. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in Hamilton, NJ.
