Jean Ann Grillo

Jean Ann (Norton) Grillo, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Benchmark Senior Living in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Elsie (Wilson) Norton. She was raised in Warwick, Rhode Island and graduated from Groton High School with the Class of 1955.

Jean married her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Joseph Anthony Grillo, on July 4, 1959, at Saint Kevin's Church in Warwick, Rhode Island. The young couple made their home together in Warwick, where they welcomed three children, Joseph, Julie, and Jill. In January of 1971, Jean and Joe moved their family to Massachusetts, making their home in the quiet suburban town of Walpole. As her family grew up, Jean took a position with Walden Books at the Walpole Mall, eventually being promoted to manager before her retirement.

Throughout her life, Jean loved to travel with her husband, Joe. Together, they traveled through the country, and looked forward to adventures on the ocean, on the deck of cruise ships. Following her retirement, Jean and Joe enjoyed escaping the cold and snow of New England, spending some of their winters at their home in Naples, Florida. While in Naples, Jean always took a relaxing walk along the beach, watching the waves roll in. Back at home in Walpole, Jean enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and hosting her family for a home cooked meal. At the end of a long day, Jean loved curling up with her cats and one of her favorite books.

Loving mother of Joseph A. Grillo, Jr. of Walpole, Julie Grillo McCreary and her husband, Jeffrey, of Dedham, and Jill Ann Grillo and her partner, Philip Lippolis, of Dedham.
Also survived by many loving cousins from Rhode Island.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jean's Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 9 to 10 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Walpole.
