Jean was born to John and Elaine in Iowa in 1951. The family moved to Forbes, North Dakota in February 1960. She helped milk cows on the farm every day before school and again when she got home. She was one of eleven siblings.
She married Roger Gunderson in August of 1976. After some time owning and running small businesses in Post Falls and Twisp, they landed in Wenatchee with two small girls in 1980. Jean worked in accounting at the Eastmont School District Superintendent's Office for many years.
Jean spent her spare time cross stitching, sewing, gardening, especially tomatoes, and enjoyed her time on her property in Bayview Idaho, and on Badger Mountain where they built their dream home and shop. One of her favorite things was shopping for Christmas presents and watching friends and family open and enjoy what they received.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Roger in September of 2023. She is survived by her daughters Michelle (Jake) Gutzwiler, Tricia (Matt) Smith, and Tina Gunderson. Her grandchildren are Leo, Nora, and John Gutzwiler, and Roger and Elaine Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, August 2nd, at 11 AM., followed by a small reception directly after at the church hall. We invite all friends and family to attend. Funeral arrangements are provided by Heritage Memorial Chapel in East Wenatchee.
