Jean Elizabeth (Hanson) Hammersborg, 69, Superior resident, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10th, 2025. She was born on July 12th , 1956 in Duluth, MN to Howard and Agnes (Johnson) Hanson.
Jean graduated from Duluth East High School and received her BS in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica. She was employed as an RN at St. Mary’s Memorial (Essentia) Hospital in Superior for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2015. Jean married John Hammersborg on August 6, 1988 in Duluth, MN.
Jean was a member of Central Assembly of God in Superior for thirty-one years and attended Redemptions Ministries in her later years with her daughter. She lived her life as a born-again Christian and died with the assurance that she would spend eternity with Jesus Christ, her personal Lord and Savior.
Jean is survived by three sons, Michael (Shannon) Hammersborg, David (Chelsea) Hammersborg and Ted Hammersborg; two daughters, Emily (Walter) Ayala and Marie Mack; four grandchildren, Myles, Karlie and Andre Ayala and Elaine Hammersborg; two brothers, Grant (Hedy) Hanson and Bruce Hanson; one sister, Cathy (Wes) Nash and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at Central Assembly of God, 3000 Hammond Avenue in Superior and continue until the 11:30 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Tom Miller officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Port Wing, WI.
