Jean (Gegen) Haukap, 95, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was born September 27, 1928 to Jacob and Anna (Mainz) Gegen in Colwich, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Husband; Edgar, son; Wayne and son-in-law; Eldon Butler. Siblings; Carrie Myers, Irene Mertes, Loretta Simon, Alvina Mertes, Joe Gegen and Frank Gegen. Jean is survived by her children; Wanda (Greg) Weber, Ann Butler, Jerry (Debbie) Haukap, Joe (Tresha) Haukap, Joyce (Phil) Bilson, Jenell (Dan) Klausmeyer and Elaine (John) Horacek. Daughter in law; Julie Haukap. 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wulf-Ast Mortuary--Garden Plain Chapel. Recitation of the rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3 and the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4th both at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Garden Plain, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: St. Elizabeth Altar Society 615 Main Street Garden Plain 67050 or to Dove Estates 1400 So. 183rd Street Goddard, Kansas 67052
