Jean Hoag Obituary
Born June 29, 1929, in Sylacauga, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Henry Judson Darden, Sr. and Cecile Howard Darden. She was also preceded in death by her, brother Henry Judson Darden, Jr.; and her son Sherrill Lackey.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Neubeck (Stephen) and son Mark Lackey (Angela); grandchildren Thomas Stanley, Chris Stanley (Kristen), Leighann Stanley, Lauren Gallagher (Mike), Jay Lackey, Eric Lackey (Natalia), Robin Mitchell (Royce), Dena McKenna, Ryan Lackey; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She retired at the age of 84 after managing Clemson Blvd. Mini Storage for 20 years. A strong Christian, she was actively involved in various churches throughout her life. She was a member of the Anderson Genealogical Society, where she performed extensive research on her colorful ancestry. A recognized talented artist, she created in various mediums beautiful art work, some of which hang in Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of South Carolina.
The family will host a celebration of her life at a later date.
