Jean Ethel (Leibensperger) Hottenstein, 85, of Topton, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Kempton, PA, on May 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Pauley) Leibensperger.

Jean was a 1958 graduate of Kutztown High School. She was married to her late husband, Melvin D. Hottenstein, for 42 years. Jean worked for East Penn Manufacturing, where she proudly operated a Battery Terminal Machine. She loved her work and found joy in simple pleasures; good food, television, and country music. Most of all, she cherished her role as a grandmother and delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, especially during the holidays.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Connie (Long) Derr of Lehighton, and Donna (Geist) Dartouzos of Colorado; her son, Brian Geist, and daughter-in-law, Claudia Geist, of Buford, Georgia; son, Michael Hottenstein of Topton; and step-daughter, Tracy (Hottenstein) Gangaway of Reading. Also surviving are her brother, Paul Leibensperger, and sister-in-law, Geraldine Leibensperger, of Kempton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin D. Hottenstein; son, Jeffery Hottenstein; step-son, Troy Hottenstein; brother, Earl Leibensperger; and sister, Shirley (Leibensperger) Michak.

Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren: Austin Hottenstein, Jaylynn Hottenstein, Gavin Hottenstein, Samantha Hottenstein, Katie Knopf, Jenna Derr, Victoria Geist, Erica Geist, and Matthew Geist; step-grandchildren: Alyssa Hottenstein, Brittany Hottenstein, Courtney Hottenstein, Heather Graeff, and Krystal Gangaway; five great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and her beloved grand dog, Ben.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John's Gernant's Cemetery, 12 Gernants Church Road, Leesport, PA 19533.
