Jean Hover Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Funeral Home - Louisa on Jan. 22, 2026.
Jean Ann (Midge) Hover, 85, of Russell, Kentucky passed away January 19, 2026 at Kings Daughters Medical Center following a long illness. She was a resident of Lantern at MorningPointe where she received wonderful care.

Jean was born October 5, 1940 in Hudson, New York, the daughter of the late Harold Bartholomew and Maud Cox Bartholomew. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bartholomew, and her husband, Clyde (Scott) Hover to whom she was married for 61 years.

She enjoyed painting, crafting, decorating, and collecting objects that gave her joy, such as teddy bears and Hummel figurines. She was a much loved mother and grandmother and though she worked as a secretary for a time, she devoted most of her life providing a warm and loving home for her family.

She loved the beach and lived in Myrtle Beach for most of her retirement. Walking along the shore and collecting shells was a favorite activity of hers.

Jean leaves behind two devoted daughters, Kim (Darryl) Willard of Louisa, Kentucky and Tracy (Michael) DeHaven of Frederick, Maryland. She also leaves four grandchildren, Lacey (Hunter) Jolley of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Ryann and Madison Willard of Louisa, Kentucky; and Alex DeHaven of Linganore, Maryland. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Boyer, of Lake Worth, Florida.

A scholarship in her name will be established at the Willard Arts Academy in Louisa, Kentucky.

A Celebration of Life for Jean will be held at a later date to be announced by the family here at Wilson Funeral Home.

Care for Jean and her family has been entrusted to our family at Wilson Funeral Home.
