Jean Helen Moore, a beacon of gentleness and loving kindness, passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 78 in Chicago, Illinois. Born on September 6, 1947, in Covington, Tennessee, Jean was a cherished individual who touched the lives of many with her friendly demeanor and warm spirit.

Jean, known affectionately by her friends and family, embarked on her life's journey in Tennessee but found her home in Chicago after moving at the tender age of nine following the passing of her dear mother. She attended DuSable High School, graduating in the class of 1966, before furthering her education at Jones Commercial Business School. Her academic pursuits paved the way for a rewarding career as a Customer Service Representative, where she dedicated 40 years of service with notable companies such as JCPenney and Spiegel. Her professionalism and the genuine care she extended to everyone she interacted with made her a beloved figure in her professional circle.

Jean's life was a testament to the power of family and the joy it brings. She was a loving mother to her only child, her daughter Kim, and a doting grandmother to her five grandsons, Tyler, Kyle, Derrick (DJ), Dylan, and Aiden. Her brothers, Larry and Thomas Moore, and sister, Joann Moore, remember her as a pillar of strength and love within the family. Jean was preceded in death by her brother Robert Moore and her sister Gail Gardner, both of whom she held close to her heart.

Those who knew Jean, even in the briefest of encounters, were touched by her gentle nature. Her friends and loved ones will forever remember her smile that could light up a room and her compassionate heart that made everyone feel special and beloved. Jean's legacy is one of love, a life well-lived, and the countless lives she enriched simply by being herself.

Jean's story is not merely one of the years in her life, but of the life in her years. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her love will always be a comforting presence in our lives. Jean Helen Moore's journey on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, we bid farewell to Jean, a woman of grace and boundless love. Her story will be retold with fondness, and her lessons of kindness will be passed down through generations. Jean will be profoundly missed, but her presence will be felt always, like a gentle whisper in the wind, reminding us of the love she shared and the peace she now finds.
