Mrs. Dorothy Jean Mullican age 91 of McMinnville, TN, died Saturday, September 27, 2025, at NHC Sparta. She was born March 22, 1934 in McMinnville, TN and was a member of the Church of Christ at Hwy. 56 North. Jean owned a bakery and was so very well-known for all of the delicious cakes and pies she made throughout the years. Many years ago, she completed the Wilton Cake Decorating Classes she took with her son when she was recovering from a severe automobile accident. She also had previously worked for Cooper and Martin Grocery, Gribble's Meat Processing, Powermatic, and Form Fit Rogers.

Survivors include her son Jim Matthews, twin step-children Donna Lee Wanamaker and Ronald Lee Mullican, niece Lisa Holder, nephews Carl Cantrell and Jerry Cantrell, grandsons James Daniel Matthews and Joshua David Matthews, and great grandchild Madison Jade, and several other family members. Mrs. Mullican was preceded in death by father Charlie Bryant Madewell, mother Della Pearl Taylor Christian Madewell, husband Lee "L.B." Mullican, sisters Ella Lee Hillard, Lucille Cantrell, and Daisy Seals, and twin brothers Thurman Christian and Herman Christian.

Graveside service and interment for Dorothy Jean Mullican were conducted on Wednesday, October 01, 2025 at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek. Wayne Cantrell officiated.
