Jean Householder Ritter, 94, of Findlay, died at 5:05 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her residence. She was born on March 12, 1931, in London, England to the late Stanley and Ann Hawes. She married Larry Householder on December 24, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1981. She later married Robert Ritter on January 29, 1983, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1999.
Jean is survived by her son, Jerry (Phyllis) Ritter; daughter, Virginia (Larry) DeVelvis; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Householder; son-in-law, Lloyd Swigert; grandchildren: Steve (Betzy) McMaster, T.J. Spoors, Amber Rucker, Krista (Daren) Ellerbrocker, Steve (Sheila) Ritter, Tyler (Tracy) Householder, Paige Householder, Garret (Melina) Householder, Grant Householder, Tiffany (Billy) Nelson, Clay DeVelvis, Chip (Emily) DeVelvis, and Melissa (Scott) Baughman; 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Householder; daughter, Linda Swigert; and a great-great-grandson, Xavier Eaton.
Jean was a U.S. immigrant from England and became a United States citizen when she was 21 years old. Her working career included, Coach House Gifts for 10 years, Hobby Center Toys for over 20 years, and Jac & Do's Pizza for 30 years. She enjoyed Hallmark cards and movies and traveling, but her greatest love was spending time with her family boating, as well as enjoying a good drink with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held 3 hours (10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) prior to the service. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots.
