Jean Marie Rohr, born on October 23, 1959, in New York, NY, to the late James and Gussie Roberts Rohr passed away on August 23, 2025, at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care in Lexington, KY. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that touched the lives of many throughout her years.
Jean had an extensive career in food service, culminating in her retirement from Hyden Health & Rehab after more than 34 years of dedicated service. Her passion for cooking was evident in every meal she prepared, taking pride in her food and ensuring that each dish was made with care. Jean's selfless personality shone through in her everyday life; she was known for going the extra mile to help anyone at any time, always willing to lend a hand or provide support to those in need.
She cherished the simplicities of life and found joy in moments spent on her porch with her sister, where they would talk about the daily occurrences in their lives. Jean's took pride in her home, always kept clean and tidy, creating a warm and inviting environment for family and friends alike. A devoted fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, she shared her enthusiasm for the team with those she loved. Her favorite place to travel was to the beach each year with her son, Tyler and his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Jean's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her eight cherished grandchildren: Zaiden, Brycin, Presleigh, Makenna, Madison, Jadyn, Aiden, and Gavin. They were the most important part of her life, and she loved them with all her heart, cherishing every moment she spent nurturing and engaging in their lives.
She is survived by her two sons, Tyler Rohr and his wife Brittany of Hyden, KY, and Gregory Lee Rohr of Hyden, KY. Two sisters, Lori Kilburn and her husband Harrison of Hyden, KY, and Brenda Adams of Mansfield, OH, also survive her, along with her special cousin Tina Collett and her husband Randy of Stinnett, KY, as well as special nieces Amanda Kilburn of Edmonton, KY, and Stephanie Kilburn of Manchester, KY. Jean is also remembered fondly by her special great nephew Bentley Galloway and special great niece Emma Galloway, and a host of friends and other relatives.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Gussie Robert Rohr, granddaughter Brynleigh Laiken Rohr, and her brother, Steven Rohr. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM, also at Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.
Interment will follow the service at the Rohr Cemetery at (Dill Branch) Hyden, KY with family friends serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
