Jean E. Rohrbaugh

Jean E. (Shirk) Rohrbaugh, age 98, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Glenn Rohrbaugh who passed away on 2002.

Jean was born in Port Royal, PA on July 4, 1927. She was the postmaster in Codorus (Jefferson), PA for many years. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Jefferson where she served as Sunday School teacher for 50 years. Jean was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company, the Mother of Twins Club in Hanover, and a Den Mother for the Jefferson Boy Scouts for many years.

Jean is survived by her children G. Douglas Rohrbaugh and wife Beverly, David Rohrbaugh and partner Carolyn Rudacille, and Donna Rohrbaugh and partner Scott Sheffer; her son-in-law Wayne Crites; her grandchildren Tracy, Mindy, Jenny, Craig, Meghan, Joshua, Jodi, Martin, Wayne, Jr., and Ryan; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces Patti Suitt, Joan Langheine, and Sandy Bell; and her nephew Brad Bortner. Jean was preceded in death by her father Harry Shirk; her mother Lillian (Yohn) Shirk; her stepmother Flora Shirk; her daughter Delma Crites; and her brother Robert Shirk.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Jean's life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Pastor Barbara Brenneman officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest with her husband at Jefferson Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
