William R. Mosebrook

William R. "Bill" Mosebrook, age 90, of York, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Phyllis M. (Shearer) Mosebrook, who passed away on August 18, 2024.

Born in Menges Mills, PA on June 2, 1935, Bill was the son of the late Joseph Mosebrook and Beulah (Hoke) Mosebrook.

Bill graduated from Hanover High School and was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, most recently worshiping at St. Matthew's in York. His faith and church community were an important part of his life.

Early in his career, Bill sold insurance for Metropolitan Life, and he later went on to finish his career as branch manager for Wolf Distributing Company of York and Kitchen Bath Company, KBC Express. Beyond his work, Bill will be remembered for his strong devotion to family and friends. He especially loved woodworking, a craft through which he found both joy and creativity. His favorite line when gathering with family was, "Life is Great!"-a phrase that perfectly captured his spirit and outlook on life.

He is survived by his children, Ronald Mosebrook and wife Mary, Pamela Wolfgang and husband Donald, and Donald Mosebrook and wife Karen; his grandchildren Brandon, Sarah, Christopher, Jacob, and Isaac; and his great-grandchildren Emma, Aidin, Braxton, Kaleb, Theo, Nolan, Paul, and Gabe. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ralph and Dennis Mosebrook.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 12 noon at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17403, with Rev. Keith Fair officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Professional services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Dr, Lancaster, PA 17601.

He will be deeply missed, but his love, cheerful spirit, and favorite reminder that "Life is Great!" will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
