Mrs. Jean Shuping passed away Saturday December 14, 2024. She was born on November 4, 1936, in Davidson County to the late Harlie and Hattie Embler. Jean grew up in Thomasville, NC, attending Davidson County Schools, following graduation she earned a RN degree from attending The City Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. On May 23, 1959, she married the love of her life, Bob Shuping. She worked for the Forsyth County Health Department and Hanes Hosiery Medical Department. She retired after 27 years of service with The Forsyth County Health Department.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Shuping; daughter-in-law, Traci Shuping; and siblings, Millard Lee (Bud) Embler, Marie E. Ring, Harlie Lee Embler, Jr., Ruby J Myers and Lester J. "LJ" Embler.
She is survived by her children, Beth Tedder (Tony), Robert Fletcher Shuping Jr.; grandchildren, Michael Tedder, Mary Pop (Alex), Fletcher Shuping, and Maxwell Shuping.
A funeral service will be held at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 2 pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Tabor UMC.
