Fay Thompson, 79, of Otway, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.
Fay was born on July 20, 1946, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Author Thompson and Stella Hill Thompson. Following high school, she went on to work as a seamstress with the local Shirt Factory.
Throughout her life, she embraced her role as “Aunt Fay,” cherishing her time with her niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nephew. Fay thoroughly enjoyed playing with them and spending time with them, especially their memorable beach outings.
Fay loved the rhythm of a good song, always listening to her favorite music hits. She enjoyed going to the movies and loved going clamming. Fay will be remembered as a loving sister and aunt who loved her family dearly.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sisters, Daphne Willis (Donald) and Mary Brazil, all of Otway; 1 niece; 2 nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and 1 great-great nephew.
