Jean Ann Thurman, who graced the world with her warmth and love, passed away on November 8, 2025, in her hometown of Xenia, Ohio, where she was born on March 8, 1961. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Jean's nurturing spirit and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
After completing her education at Xenia High School, where she proudly graduated in the class of 1979, Jean had a long and fulfilling career retiring as an Accounting Supervisor at Systech Environmental Corporation (Lafarge Corporation), where she devoted over 30 years of her life. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her steadfast dedication to her family.
Jean's beloved husband, Charlie Terrell, Sr., was her partner through life's journey, providing love and support as they built a life filled with cherished memories. She created a nurturing home for her devoted daughter, Aubree (Keith Pugh) Thurman, who knew her mother as a rock, a confidante, and a true friend. Jean’s heart overflowed with pride for her adored grandson, Luca, who brought her immeasurable joy and affection. He affectionately called her "Gaga," a title that perfectly encapsulated the unconditional love she offered.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Jean recognized her humble nature and her unwavering belief in standing up for what was right. She was always there for those she loved, providing a safe haven for family and friends alike. Her home was a sanctuary filled with kindness and compassion, and her selfless acts extended not only to her loved ones but also to any and all animals that found their way to her door.
She enjoyed taking peaceful walks, finding solace in the beauty of nature. Her passion for travel took her to many destinations such as Hocking Hills and Myrtle Beach, where treasured memories were made. A true Chef at heart, she delighted in cooking, always eager to explore new recipes and share her culinary creations with others. Her green thumb earned her the prestigious "Yard Beautiful" award in Xenia, a testament to her love for gardening and the joy it brought to her life.
Jean was also an active member of the Moose Lodge 73 in Beavercreek and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Xenia, where she fostered community and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Neal and Janice Muterspaw, who instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and integrity that she carried throughout her life.
As we remember Jean, we celebrate a life devoted to family, compassion, and the stewardship of love. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, reminding us all of the beauty of connection, generosity, and unwavering support. Jean Ann Thurman may have departed from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.

"You can only have one mother,
patient, kind and true, no
other friend in all the world
will be the same to you. When
other friends forsake you, to
mother you will return, for all
her loving kindness, she asks
nothing in return. As we look
upon her picture, sweet
memories we recall, of a face
so full of sunshine, and a
smile for one and all. Sweet
Jesus take this message, to
our dear mother up above,
tell her how we miss her, and
give her all our love."
