ARCANUM -- Jean Claudette Ullmer, age 85, of Arcanum, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 18, 2026. Jean was born on September 17, 1940, in Arcanum, Ohio to Wayne and Dorothea Huston, former owners of Huston's Restaurant.
Jean graduated from Arcanum High School in 1958. Jean's love for nursing came along with the care she received while having her six children. She graduated from Sinclair Community College in 1976. Her love for nursing lasted 35 years and even then, she was not ready to retire.
Jean met the love of her life Jack Ullmer in 1967 when they had a short courtship before he asked her to marry him. Jean being burnt once, already never gave him answer until he said if they didn't get married on May 17, 1968, he would be moving on. She of course accepted and the rest was history. He called her his special angel. Little did either one of them expect that Jack would also become Jean's six children's first love as well.
Jean is proceeded in death her husband Jack of 57 years, parents Wayne and Dorothea Huston, two sisters Ann Doyle and Kay Smith, two Daughters Tamara Beltran and Lisa Hope Lewis, Granddaughter Jacqualine Moore, and grandson Brandon Beltran. Jean is survived by her sister Toni Rismiller, four children Brenda Stockhill, Dean Delk, Darla Staricha (Rick Staricha) and David Delk (Ellen Delk). She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 38 Great grandchildren, and 6 Great Great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and a great great niece.
