Jean A. Weyenberg, Vanden Broek, age 89, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was born in Little Chute on December 30, 1936, to the late Emil and Rosella (Bongers) Van Dyke. Jean married Ervan Hooyman on June 18, 1958, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1989. She married Roman "Romie" Weyenberg on September 9, 2000. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2006.
Jean loved the outdoors. When their kids were young, she and Erv took them on many camping trips and canoeing adventures. She enjoyed watching sports on TV, whether it was golf, basketball, or football. Jean especially loved the Chicago Bears but could be found watching the local football team as well. She golfed in a lady's golf league for many years.
Jean was a very independent lady and traveled all over the world, even working as a tour host for Holiday Travel. She spent many winters in
Port St. Lucie, FL but missed her family too much to stay longer.
Jean was proud of her work at Mc Carty Law and Godfrey Kahn as a legal secretary. She used her administrative skills in her volunteer work at St. Paul Elder Services and Holy Cross Parish. She also volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister and in other roles at Holy Cross Parish. In her younger years, she worked at Boots TV in Little Chute, ensuring that there were lots of records at home to enjoy and instilled a love of music in her children.
Above all, Jean loved her family. She was always up for a good party, enjoying family time, and especially her great grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her sons: Mike (Ellen) Hooyman, Little Chute; Steve (Mary) Hooyman, Neenah; and Tom (Vonnie) Hooyman, Harrison; grandchildren: Amy (Ryan) Vosters, Katie (Jordan) Johnson, Kim (Marty) Lamers, Kelsey (Phil) Hietpas, Kelly (Ramon) Mateos, Ben (Claudia) Hooyman, April (Mitch) Ostrenga, and Jim (Lisa) Hooyman; great grandchildren: Lauren, Grant, Mabel, Carter, Vada, Maya, Anna, Josie, Grace, Hank, Bennett, Michael, Ruby, Luna, Helen, and Marcus, with her sixteenth great grandchild on the way; siblings: Karen Dollevoet and Jim (Mary Jo) Van Dyke; and in- laws: Marilyn Kottke and Ron (Judy) Hooyman. In addition to her parents, and husbands, Ervan and Romie, Jean was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jerry Dollevoet.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna) from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating.
