Jean Winslow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 15, 2025.
Friday, Jan., 31, 2025, age 95. Predeceased by her husband, Ed. She
leaves her daughter, Karen (Graham) Holroyd; son, Brian (Amy) Winslow;
grandchildren, Aaron (Alissa) and Tyler Holroyd, Ted (Kelly) Winslow, Emily
(Jim) Payne, Andy (Shaughna) and Tim (Colleen) Winslow; 10 great-
grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Jean was born July 21, 1929 in Presque Isle, Maine, where she also grew
up the youngest of 4 children. She was married to Ed Winslow in June of
1950 and enjoyed a 68 year marriage until his death in 2018. They moved
frequently during their first 7 years of marriage, following Ed's job as a
telephone equipment installer. Ed and Jean eventually settled in Webster
in 1958, raising their children, Karen and Brian. Living in the same house
for 61 years, Jean moved into assisted living in 2019.
Jean was an avid bowler and a lover of Pepsi. She volunteered at the
Bayview YMCA and was the chairperson of the capital funds drive that was
instrumental in the construction of the new building. She was a meticulous
bookkeeper and was Brian's office manager for 33 years. She loved being
a grandmother and great grandmother and always had hugs and toys for
the kids whenever they visited.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at both Baywinde and
Cherry Ridge for the wonderful care Jean received during her twilight
years.
Friends may call 1-3 PM Sunday, March 9 at Willard H. Scott Funeral
Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where her Memorial Service will follow at
3:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 131
West Main St., Webster, NY 14580, or Webster Rotary Club, PO Box 236,
Webster, NY 14580.
