Eugenia Marie Kelly-Gouge, affectionately known as Jeana to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 65. Born on July 24, 1960, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Jeana was a vibrant soul whose warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone she met.
Jeana's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Henryetta, where she graduated from Henryetta High School. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue further education at the University of Oklahoma before she earned her nursing degree from the University of Tulsa in 1989. Jeana's career in nursing, though brief, was marked by the same dedication and care she showed in every aspect of her life.
A proud member of the Muscogee Creek Nation, Jeana dedicated herself to preserving the Native American culture that was so dear to her heart. She was an accomplished artist, mastering the beadwork and textile artwork taught to her by her mother. Her intricate designs and vibrant textiles were not only a celebration of her heritage but also a testament to her meticulous craftsmanship and artistic vision.
Jeana's love for her culture was paralleled by her love for her husband, Randy, with whom she shared many adventures. The couple's shared passion for travel took them to numerous destinations, creating a tapestry of memories that Randy will cherish forever. Together, they also found joy in attending stomp dances, where the rhythm of the drums and the unity of the community resonated deeply with Jeana's spirit.
One of Jeana's greatest joys was teaching young children about beadwork and textiles. She believed in passing on the traditions of her ancestors to the next generation, ensuring that the beauty and stories of her people would continue to thrive. Her gentle guidance and patient instruction inspired many young minds, leaving a legacy of cultural appreciation and artistic talent that will endure for years to come.
Jeana is survived by her husband Randy Gouge, sister; Vicki Kelly and husband Tullie Johnson and their children Rosalynn "baby" Johnson and Sam Kelly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene & Rose (Lasley) Kelly
