Jeanetta Kay Eckhoff, 52, of Cadet, Missouri, passed away at her home on October 20, 2025, surrounded by those she loved.
Jeanetta was born on March 28, 1973, in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter to Adrain Eckhoff and the late Lillian (Coleman) Eckhoff. She grew up in Washington County and later spent many years living in St. Louis before moving to Indiana. During the last year of her life, Jeanetta returned home to Cadet to be close to her family.
Jeanetta was a truly unique person—one of a kind—and anyone who met her would never forget her. She had a deep love for gardening and was skilled in working with farm machinery. Jeanetta adored cats, earning her the affectionate nickname “feral cat” among her family. In her younger years, she expressed her sense of style through modeling. In her final days, she found great joy in the company of her young nieces, whose laughter and love brought her comfort.
Jeanetta is survived by her father, Adrain Eckhoff; siblings Mary June Rowe, Joey Eckhoff, Cindy DeClue, Erma Eckhoff, Tabitha & James Nichols, Ava & Mike Stewart, Lisa Eckhoff, and Ace & Angie Eckhoff; special family friend Simon McCloud; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Eckhoff; brother, Michael Eckhoff; and sister, Debbie Eckhoff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Church of God, with interment to follow at Barlow Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home. Jeanetta will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
