Jeanette E. Laningham, a beloved resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 86. Born in Hollywood, California, on March 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joe Langham and Katie Counts Langham. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Langham and Max Langham.
Jeanette's roots were deeply planted in Wedington, Arkansas, where she spent her childhood years. On May 17, 1972, she embarked on a lifelong journey with her husband, Curtis Laningham. Together, they worked tirelessly to build a successful business at Curtis Texaco in Fayetteville. Jeanette was not just Curtis's loving wife but also his steadfast companion in the tow truck, sharing countless miles and memories during their partnership, which neared one million miles.
She was a faithful member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Fayetteville for an impressive fifty-five years, where her voice graced the choir, filling the hearts of those around her. Jeanette was a talented painter and shared her love for art with her son, creating beautiful works that spoke to her soul. Her singing talent wasn't confined to the church; she often sang alongside her son, spreading joy to those who had the pleasure of hearing her.
Her green thumb and love for nature were evident in her passion for plants and flowers, and her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit. Jeanette's presence in the world was a reflection of her love for life and the beauty in it.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, Curtis Laningham, her devoted son, Ed Laningham, and her daughter, Kelly Ayadi. She leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Cassidy Anderson and Hunter Anderson. She is also survived by her sisters, Joan Coe, and Neta Marceaux, who held a special place in her heart.
Visitation to celebrate Jeanette's life will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, at the same location, with cremation to follow. Jeanette E. Laningham's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love her.
