Jeanette Locklear

Ms. Jeanette Locklear, 77, of Lumberton, NC was born February 26, 1948 and departed this life, December 29, 2025 at Harborview Nursing Home of Lumberton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hosie Locklear, her spouses, Woody Locklear and Gladys Locklear, a son, Andre, and other family members.

Ms. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Anthony Locklear of the home, two sisters, Angeline Locklear and Jean Deese along with several nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

Ms. Jeanette was employed in manufacturing for a short period of time, but the career that meant the most to her was her employment at Woodhaven Nursing Home for thirty plus years. Jeanette developed long lasting friendships with staff and residents. She constantly doted on the patients there as if family by remembering birthdays and providing special treats. For those that knew Jeanette personally, she was always smiling, had a keen sense of humor, and entertained in her home surrounded by friends that enjoyed her free spirit of herself.

Upon her retirement, Ms. Jeanette spent her time at the gym, time with those that were sick in her community carrying baked goods, cleaning or just entertaining them with jolly conversation. Ms. Jeanette will be greatly missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing her before sickness erased the person that brought so much joy to our lives.
