Gorham/Gray It's with great sadness that the family of Janet Wilson beloved wife, mother, nana, great nana announce her passing on September 17, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 19, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Ernest and Adrienne (Laroche) Verville. Janet moved to and was raised in Berlin, New Hampshire where she graduated from Notre Dame. She then moved to Portland, Maine where she met and married Richard Wilson. They were married on November 22, 1962 and moved to Gray, Maine to raise their family.

Janet had a successful 26-year career in the banking field, ultimately retiring from TD Bank. Janet and Richard enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. They embarked on many memorable journeys across the United States, exploring every state by land, as well as traveling overseas for unforgettable vacation. They also enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, board games and crossword puzzles. Janet had a passion for creativity, finding joy in Scrapbooking and card making.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Richard Wilson, a brother Robert (Rolande) Verville, her 3 daughters Michelle Whitmore, Lisa (Howard) Ross, and Susan Bogard, as well as grandchildren Trevor (Emily) Ross, Jessica Whitmore, Kristen (Jeremy) Jones and Benjamin Whitmore along with great-grandchild Pippa Ross and many nieces and nephews. Janet's best friend Louise Poulin, held a special place in her heart, while her brother-in-law Tony Wilson offered unwavering support during her battle and survival from breast cancer.

Janet will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the honor of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

Visitation on Saturday September 20, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home in Gray, Maine visiting hours and service is 1 pm to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Northern Light Mercy Hospital Cancer Center or Southern Maine Hospice.
