"Kathy" Stasaitis, who passed on February 11, 2023.
Jeanne leaves her devoted children: James A. Carter and his wife Kim, of Charleston, SC, Linda J. Sbrogna and her husband Joseph, of Worcester, Ronald J. Carter, of Sturbridge, MA, and Debra M. Seaman and her husband Kevin, of Auburn; her son-in-law, Paul J. She was also predeceased by her siblings, William "Bill" Ducharme, Ronald Ducharme, Therese Dayutis, and Baby Dorothy Ducharme.
Jeanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William H. and Clarice (LaPorte) Ducharme. She was raised and a graduate of Holy Name High School, Class of 1950. Jeanne continued her studies in nursing and was a graduate of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1953 and began her lifelong career as a Registered Nurse. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital, Assumption College, and later worked for Fr. Ralph DiOrio's ministry in the medical department. She loved communicating with medical professionals to verify healings from attendees of Father DiOrio's services and creating an organized system to record these claims. One of her joys was compiling a book of said healings as well.
She dedicated her life to helping others, and not just within her nursing career. Jeanne belonged to the Prayer Shawl Ministry, International Prayer Line-praying for the sick and suffering. She loved quilting, sewing, crafting, gardening, and taking in the beauty of nature, Wallis Sands Beach and Yoken's restaurant, shopping, she just loved it all.
Because she appreciated life and what each day had to offer. Jeanne's core values in life were her faith and her family – her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to her Catholic faith was remarkable. Sundays were reserved for church and for family, to gather, to pray, and to be together as a whole.
Jeanne loved to travel, her favorite spots were Charleston, SC, Hyannis, MA and Disney. Day trips and mystery trips were a big thing too. Jeanne was able to find beauty and joy in the simple things in life. She was very involved in the Auburn Senior Center, and enjoyed the senior trips with her husband. Jeanne always knew how to live life to its fullest.
She loved her community at Brookdale Eddy Pond, and could often be found doing just about every activity every day. Bingo, exercising, painting, jingo, word games, bowling, movies, you name it, she was involved. She took the activity sheet as her prescription. She always said, you need to keep moving and keep doing.
Above all, Jeanne's family was the most important – she was often found on the side lines of all the sports activities her five children were doing and then continued to be there for all the grandchildren and greats. Her favorite family activities were parties: Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Memorial Day Parade, Fireworks, or having a "Just Cause" day, any reason to be together. She would often repeat the phrases, "I just love my family." and "It'll all just work out." Though we feel Jeanne's loss thoroughly and deeply, we know she will never truly be gone, and that her legacy of love lives on through us.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that all memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church Ministries (https://stjosephscharlton.com/electronic-giving).
