Richard Edmonston Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 22, 2025.
Richard "Dick" J. Edmonston, 76, of Auburn, passed away on November 14, 2025 after a period of declining health associated with leukemia. Born December 30, 1948 in Quincy, MA to Leslie and Catherine Edmonston, Dick spent his formative years living in Maine with his parents and sister Leslie (Edmonston) Buck. He graduated from the University of Maine and relocated to Massachusetts. He worked many years as a salesman for Brite Star and retired from Verizon as a Customer Service Representative.

As an avid golfer, Dick was a member at Pakachoag Golf Course, where he made life long friends. Dick's other hobbies included reading and sports. He would travel miles to out-of-town libraries to pick up books he wanted to read and stayed current with the New York Times best sellers list. Dick followed all New England sport teams but could quote all other teams football statistics like no other.

Dick is predeceased by his parents Leslie and Catherine and his sister Leslie. There are no calling hours. After cremation Dick will be interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, ME along side his parents. Memorial contributions can be made in Dick's memory to your local library.
